  2. As a review… • NRS Core Outcome Measures • Educational Gain • Obtain GED • Enter Postsecondary Education or Training • Enter Employment • Retain Employment FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  3. In the past… • Educational Gain goal was set by GALIS for all students with a pre-test (except High Adult Secondary Education, ASE 2) • Obtain GED was set for all High Adult Secondary Education (ASE 2) students who lacked a diploma FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  4. Now… FY13 • All NRS Core Goals will be set automatically by designated cohort • GALIS will set these goals based upon demographic and assessment data • Goal-completion is determined through data match alone • No Self-Report • No Follow-up Survey FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  5. Educational Gain Cohort • No change from prior years • Cohort Composition: • All students (except ASE 2) with a pre-test and 12 hours FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  6. Follow-up Measures Enter Employment Postsecondary GED Retain Employment FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  7. Obtain GED Cohort • NRS Students who exit and: • take all five parts of the GED Test Note: Educational Functioning Level is not considered. FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  8. Enter Postsecondary Cohort • NRS Students who exit and: • have a HS diploma/GED or higher at entry OR • pass the GED test before the end of the reporting period for the year they exit OR • are enrolled in a designated Transition class FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  9. Enter Employment Cohort • NRS Students who exit and: • are designated as “Unemployed and looking for work” at entry FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes

  10. Retained Employment Cohort • NRS Students who exit and: • are designated as “Employed” at entry OR • are “Unemployed and looking for work” at entry and find a job during their exit quarter or one quarter after exit FY13 National Reporting System (NRS) Changes
