  5. Jail time • While in jail he became one of the mostfamousprisoners in the world • He wasstillseen as a leader and changesbeganslowly happening • Finally, he wasfreed in 1990!

  6. Fromprisoner to president • Just a fewyearslater in 1994, whenblackpeoplehad the right to vote for the first time, Nelson Mandela won the presidency • Peoplewerefearful but he decided he wanted to work to free the oppressed and the oppressor
