  3. 2008: Formed by UT Former President Dr. Joe Johnson and 4 mayors. 2010: 45 cities/counties, 4 colleges 2012: 65 cities/counties, 8 colleges 2013: 92 cities/counties, 29 Colleges, 8 Philippine colleges, 2 Philippine Cities > 150K 2014: Target schools through elementary school forums, Annual Conference and Regional Forums Mission: connect renewable energy with economic development for Tennessee Founding Members: TVA, USDA Rural Development, Gibson Co. Utilities, TDEC, TN Gas Association, ARiES Energy & PHG Energy, The University of Tennessee & Tennessee Tech University

TREEDC Business Model 1- Network – word of mouth-grassroots approach 2- Leverage university and TVA resources to galvanize support of mayors 3- Free Energy Forums statewide 4- Share best practices – arrange business “dates” 5- Assist TVA, TGA, TDEC with their outreach 6- Recruit corporations through International Exchange Program
