  4. Budgeting for an apprentice Wages Employers must meet legal minimum wage levels but many offer a higher salary There is a special apprenticeship national minimum wage which is £2.60 per hour. Generally, employers of creative apprentices in Manchester have offered at least the standard national minimum wage which is: £6.19 per hour – 21 years and over £4.98 per hour - 18 to 20 years £3.68 per hour - 16-17 years Creative Employment Programme Slide 5

  5. Budgeting for an apprentice College Tuition Fees: Free for those aged 16-19 years old. Over 19 - the employer is asked to fund 10% of the costs of a particular pathway.
