  1. How do you make your university application stand out? So, you know what you want to study at the university and where. Now’s the time you plan how to make your university application stand out. Certain universities courses are especially competitive, such as Business Management, Computer Science, Architecture Courses and the like. Thousands from around the world apply to secure seats at universities like Cambridge, Oxford, or Harvard, however, only 5% to 15% can make it through. The reason? A cut-throat competition. Here are 4 effective ways to make your university application stand out from the crowd as an eager candidate – Research your chosen course Research is important if you are looking to stand out to the university admission department. University courses differ broadly in regards to the modules and content. For instance, English Literature at Cambridge will offer you different modules and experience from the same course at Harvard University. As you are soon sending out your university application, determine what course you’d like to apply for and then tailor your application. This will make your application relevant to the admission department as it answers why you are one of the million to be placed there. Read an extensive range of books on your chosen subject Once you are done researching the course, the next step is to READ, READ, and READ. Apart from reading A-Level literature, invest some time in reading course- specific books to make your university application stand out. The university admission department needs to see how much a candidate is involved with their chosen subject and have knowledge of their subjects. However, there’s one more thing and it’s that you can’t continue reading a book just for the sake of securing a place in a top university if the concept of the book doesn’t pique your interests in the first place. This is why it’s important to choose a subject that can interest you in its ever-evolving fields and matters. Try to volunteer

  2. Volunteering is not only beneficial for the mankind, or the world, it also looks good on the university application. What is more that you can earn up to 50 additional UCAS points by helping out a good cause in your local community. Have a course-related experience Ambitious students take summer courses during the summer break while they are still in their high school final semester to get an advanced course-related experience. Today, many university-level summer schools provide dedicated courses to help potential university applicants do well in their university applications. One of such university-level summer schools is Immerse Education – Immerse Education offers dedicated advanced courses, including Architecture, Biology, Business Management, Chemistry, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Economics, Engineering and more. Hence, if you are considering taking a full-time course, for example, in Economics or Engineering, you can choose to enrol in Immerse Education’s either of the programmes and immerse yourself a tailored course-related experience in advance. This will also make your university application stand out because when you gain advanced insight into what it’s like to be studying in one of the top universities, such as Cambridge or Oxford, the university admission department finds it very compelling and an authentic demonstration of your interest in a subject.
