When getting admission to a course in New Zealand, students can choose between these two major intakes offered by New Zealand Universities and institutions: Semester 1: February to June Semester 2: July to November

  4. OTHER INTAKES FOR INDIAN STUDENTS IN NEW ZEALAND Some universities have courses available in September and November too. There are some vocational courses that students can admit to even in the months of March, April and May. It is important to note that universities in New Zealand do not offer the same course over multiple intakes. So, before choosing an intake, be sure to choose a course and university where you want to study in New Zealand.

  5. WHICH INTAKE TO OPT FOR? You can choose an Intake depending upon the availability of your program, academic background, entrance test scores, acceptance rates, job opportunities, and your willingness to join the program. In this way, you can choose the intake that’s best available for you. Many Indian students prefer the upcoming July intake, but the February intake has equally good programs. You should have your score cards ready for July intake. If not, it’s better to apply for the next intake without rushing for the recent one. Make sure your entire application and interview process is complete 4-5 months prior to the February intake since the universities in New Zealand have a limited intake capacity.

  6. CAN YOU STUDY IN NEW ZEALAND WITHOUT IELTS? Given that you are good at the English language and have proof of having studied English at the school level, you can get a chance to study in New Zealand without IELTS. There might be some universities that require you to attend an interview with the admissions officer before you can study a course in New Zealand without IELTS. If you have good language skills, you can easily get through the interview for the study course in New Zealand. If not IELTS, there are some alternative tests that you can take to prove your English proficiency. The tests are TOEFL, PTE, and NZCEL (New Zealand Certificate in the English Language)
