UAE • Although the United Arab Emirates is a desert region, His Highness Sheikh Zayed , the late ruler, could change it into green land. Parks, trees , farms and agricultural projects spread everywhere in the UAE. Under the directions of the late Sheikh Zayed several sea water desalination projects were started. Fresh water is available now for drinking and irrigation. Sheikh Zayed was selected “Man of Environment” in 1993.
