Damage of a Hurricane • A Hurricane can cause severe damage to many cities. • For example, A Hurricane in Pakistan killed more than 300,000 people.
How Hurricanes form • A Hurricane forms tropical areas around the equator. • But Hurricanes never form over the equator. • They can only form over the water.
When hot and cold air masses meet a Hurricane may form. Usually a Hurricane dies at sea when it passes over cold water. What causes a Hurricane
Hurricane speed • Hurricanes can go up to 300 miles per hour. • But most hurricanes average speed is 235 miles per hour.
When Hurricanes Occur Hurricanes usually occur in April, May, and June. And remember they mostly occur in tropical areas.
Stay Safe • Before a Hurricane comes you should put boards on your window but don’t tape your window. • You should also pick up small things laying around in your yard like flower pots or toys because the wind could pick them up and send them flying into your windows, cars, or even you!
