Things that you need to make the hard soap 1) 1L used cooking oil 2) 150g NaOH (Sodium hydroxide) 3) Stainless steel/plastic pot and ladle 4) Rubber/plastic gloves 5) 290mL water 6) A few drops of scented oil 7) Newspaper 8) Recycled bottles 9) Moulds for the mixture 10) Kitchen scale 11) Measuring cup 12) Funnels 13) Sieve/Filter paper
(Slide 2) Procedure Things to note: 1L used cooking oil 1000g eco-soap Do this in an airy space. 1) Add 150g NaOH(Sodium hydroxide) into the pot and pour 290mL water in slowly. Cover the pot for 2 min, then start stirring. This reaction will heat the mixture and produce steam.
(Slide 3) Procedure 2) Mix until NaOHdissolves and the mixture becomes clear. 3) Wait for the temperature to lower to 40 - 45°C. 4) Pour 1L of used cooking oil into pot and stir. 5) Add a few drops of scented oil and add the mixture into moulds when it thickens. 6) After 2-3 days, remove soap from the moulds. Note: Store the soap indoors and away from direct sunshine
