  2. This presentation gives a brief description of • Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law. • It tells you: • what Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law is • how it can help you • how to look for information in it • The presentation will take about 4 minutes

Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law (OSAIL) brings a major new dimension to our offerings for scholars and practitioners working in public international law.  • The site contains full-text online editions of market-leading reference works and treatises published by Oxford University Press, such as Oppenheim’s International Law.

  4. Books in the following four categories have been selected for inclusion: • Authoritative treatises, which continue to define their area of law • Black-letter reference works and commentaries, which will help you to answer practical questions about the law • Classic works on international law, which remain influential in their field today • Flagship publications, which provide innovative perspectives on current legal problems. New titles are added twice per year.

  5. continental shelf The homepage allows users to navigate the content by subject or author quickly and intuitively. Quick search and advanced search are also provided at the top right of the page. This allows full-text searching of every title from Oxford Scholarly Authorities on International Law (by default) or references, reports and further commentaries and analysis on the Oxford Public International Law portal.

  6. ˅ Search results can be filtered by book titles, subject, author or date in the left panel.

  7. You can see the results listed on the right of the page…

  8. Pages can be printed or downloaded as a pdf, saved to the personal profile area, emailed, and shared via social networks.

  9. OSAIL allows users: • navigate the book content conveniently from the table of contents in the left panel • get to the book page easily from each chapter.

  10. On the book page, author, bibliographic information, print publication date and ISBN are provided. Users can browse the book from the table of contents. The option of searching within the book is also provided.

  11. The Oxford Law Citator, a powerful research tool, is provided free of charge with all online law resources from Oxford University Press. From the Citator, other materials can be accessed inOSAIL, other Oxford University Press online law resources, and certain external resources.
