  2. division • This week we worked on breaking number up into friendly parts. We did that so it would be easier for us to divid.

  3. Example question • How many 4s are in 71? Break 71 into smaller, friendly numbers.

  4. Answer/working it out • 40 and 31. Hmmm… How many 4s go into 40? That is easy (10) of course. Then how many 4s go into 31? The answer to that is (7). There is going to be a remainder left over. That left over number/remainder is 3.

  5. Fact Families • Fact families are in triangles. The triangles have 3 numbers one at each corner.

  6. What they can be used for • They can be used for a lot of things. They are used for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  7. Multipulcation and Division fact family • 25*30 is part of a addition fact family. Hmmm… something is missing in the triangle. What is it? It is the answer. The answer is 750. This can be shown in different ways in a fact family like this. • 25*30=750. • 30*25=750. • 750\25=30. • 750\30=25.
