Compassion fatigue and burnout are potential obstacles to retention. The ALU primarily cares for newly diagnosed patients with Acute Leukemia: an aggressive disease with less than 30% cure rate. This unit also handles the complexities of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) status & provides end-of-life care often. It is easy to see why staff may be prone to increased work-stress. Aromatherapy has been shown in previous studies to decreased staff perceived work-stress. Perceived Work Stress Questionnaire AVERAGE SUBSCALE SCORES Purposes: *To determine if oncology staff perceived work stress would decrease after a six-week intervention of diffusion of selected essential oils in the nurses station. *To educate oncology staff regarding aromatherapy and assess staff Support of a future aromatherapy project with patients.
