The Bronze WashbasinHoliness and Purity Exodus 30:17–21
The Bronze Washbasin Exodus 30:17–21 17 Then the Lord said to Moses, 18 “Make a bronze washbasin with a bronze stand. Place it between the Tabernacle and the altar, and fill it with water. 19 Aaron and his sons will wash their hands and feet there. 20 They must wash with water whenever they go into the Tabernacle to appear before the Lord and when they approach the altar to burn up their special gifts to the Lord—or they will die! 21 They must always wash their hands and feet, or they will die. This is a permanent law for Aaron and his descendants, to be observed from generation to generation.”
The Pursuit of Holiness THE PLACE THE PURPOSE THE PRIORITY
The Place of Pursuit The Pursuit of Holiness begins at the Washbasin. Which is located between the Holy Place and the Bronze Altar. The place at which we begin our pursuit is important to God. It was past the Sacrifice, but prior to the Holy Place. We cannot get to God’s full presence without the washbasin!
The Purpose of Pursuit Desiring to be close to God. “Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:22) “Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:8 )
The Priority of Pursuit We must intentionally leave the mundane practices of This world and pursue Holiness in His presence! The Altar makes us right, while the Washbasin brings us one step closer to God and Holiness!
The Pursuit of Holiness Christ on the Cross made us right so we can pursue God’s presence through Holiness! We have to accept both the sacrifice and the pursuit of Holiness!
