Periodic equipment safety checks should include: • Brakes – pedal shouldn’t go all the way to the floor, vehicle should stop in a straight line without significantwheel pull, check proper brake fluid level. • Tires – check cool tires for proper pressure, adequate tread, uneven wear, breaks, cuts, bulges or damage. √ Windshield wipers – Replace cracked or worn blades. Refill windshield washer solvent. √ Emergencies – Know how to move vehicle to a safe area, carry basic tools, first aid kit, flares/reflectors, flashlight and cell phone.
