Taicang City • Taicang located at southeastern tip of Jiangsu Province, • It borders the Yangtze River on the east and neighbors Shanghai on the south. • It covers an area of 823 square kilometers, of which 649 square kilometers land area. • With registered permanent residents of 460,000. • Taicang is one of the most developed counties in China.

  6. TPDZ (Taicang port development zone) TPDZ approved by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, was established in 1993, with a planned land area of 261 square km. Located at the south bank of Yangtze River Estuary, Taicang Port is the best joint for “River-and-Sea Coordinated Transport”. As a unique natural deep-water harbor, Taicang port owns a coastline of 38.8 kilometers long and 12.5 meters deep, which allows it to construct fourth and fifth generation container berth.As a first class national port, Taicang port has been listed as a main port for containers of the Shanghai International Navigation Center by the Ministry of Communications and National Development and Planning Committee.

  8. 2.2 Port advantages • The port owns 52 berths includes container, bulk cargo and petro-chemical berths. • There are 24 berths of 10,000tons capacity and total 77.71million tons planed capacity as well as 2.35milliom ETU capacity for container berths. • It has already built 200,000square meter warehouse, 1.9million square meters pile-yard, 1million cubic meter oil tank and many kinds of shore equipment 240sets. • Taicang port has established more than 70 sea routes domestic and overseas connect the area of Korea, Japan, Taiwan and east-Asia and so on.   11. 3.1.1 Sophisticated Facilities • Six individual warehouses cover a total area of 75,000㎡ with the additional 40,000㎡ parking lots. • Each warehouse is 150 meters in length, 72 meters in width and 12 meters in height.
