Inclusive Growth ‘Explore ways of encouraging growth within an inclusive society, facilitating reductions in intra-regional disparities between communities in terms of the access to employment and working towards work-life balance and quality of life’.
Aim • To support projects that: - increase employability and the integration of disadvantaged groups into wider society - reduce gender inequality - reduce intra-regional disparities - encourage the development of local community leadership in urban and rural areas - develop and adopt models of best practice in human resource management

Human Resource Management • Project Outline: Develop a new framework and associated pilot project for reconciling the objectives of business growth and improved workforce flexibility with inclusive working practices and employee involvement through innovative forms of human resources management and work organisation.
Methodology • An audit of existing programmes and services • Evaluation of their effectiveness • Development of a new framework which fosters the competitive advantage and productivity of participating firms through inclusive and innovative work practice. • Integration of framework with other business support services • Pilot implementation elements of the framework
Urban Renaissance Project Outline: • the project will seek to build the skills of all those engaged in community development and regeneration process. • Develop a training pathway for all those actively involved in community development in regeneration and growth of new communities. • Promote and nurture local leadership and ownership in areas of disadvantage or rapid growth/change • Create a European bank of trained community development champions • Identify transferable models of neighbourhood management
Methodology • Desk research – review and contrast the range of existing training provision in community development • Identification of employment pathways • Development of at least 6 case studies • Identify opportunities for networking regionally and transnationally to enhance learning. • Identify models of learning • Develop inter-regional dissemination of lessons learnt across states – focusing on skills development and employment opportunities.
Labour Market Functionality Project Outline: • Development of a unified framework to consider the functionality of regional and local labour markets to inform regional social and economic policy • Key considerations -Balance -Internal coherence and harmony -Sustainability
Methodology • Plans to agree a set of characteristics /indicators to be incorporated in a view of the effective functioning of local and regional labour markets • Development of a framework • Application of the framework
Social Enterprise Project Outline: • Identify key supported employment practice throughout the member states • Identify case studies suitable for franchising • Promotion of models
Methodology • Literature review • Identification of a range of supported employment practices used within successful social enterprises • Development of at least 9 case studies • Identification of at least 2 models for franchising • Dissemination of lessons learnt • Creation of franchising training
Social Inclusion Promotion Project Outline: • Assess the range of community / private /public sector activity taking place • Identify models of good practices and draw out key success factors • Provide a capacity building programme for organisations wishing to engage in similar partnerships • Identify brokerage mechanisms at a regional level
Methodology • Creation of a typology of the range of community / private / public sector engagement mechanisms • Practical guide to ‘how to support social inclusion through CSR’ • Roll out of capacity building programme for pilot grouping of community and public agencies to engage with private orgs
