hello Jami, Logan, Sam, Elvir, Abdalla
Main religions • The main religions of the region are Jewish (Israel) and Muslim (Palestine)
Jerusalem • Jerusalem is a sacred site for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam • It has been sacred for Judaism the longest, then Christianity, then Islam • Jerusalem should be an international city as it is holy to many religions
Religious claims • Jews lived in Israel thousands of years ago before the Romans ran them out • Much later in the middle 20th century, the Jews wanted to return to their self-proclaimed home land. • Of course, the Palestinians didn’t want to leave after living there for so many years
Obstacles • Both religions want to have the entire land to themselves but this will most likely never happen
Terrorism • Terrorism is the use of violence and threats to intimidate people. • Both Israel and Palestine practice terrorism. • Two major groups of terrorism are the Hamas, PLO, al-Qaeda, and Taliban.
terrorism • The goals of terrorist groups are to get rid of the opposing groups. • What's standing in the way of a peace plan is the fact that both groups want the land for themselves and its not going to happen so they should just share it equally.
Peace Plan • We decided that Israel and Palestine should share the land equally and be free to practice their religions as they please. • If they have separate countries because of their religion, that just feeds to the belief that they are different and should be separated
Peace Plan (cont.) • Both countries believe that the land is their promised land so the only solutions would be to divide the land equally or to share • Sharing the land would be best because they would both be able to use all of the land
