  2. Objectives • Students will be able to identify different characteristics of polygons. • Students will be able to draw and identify a polygon.

  3. Instructional Strategies • 1. Students will watch a brainpop video on polygons at brainpop.com under subject Math and category Geometry. • 2. Students will research on the website http://www.mathsisfun.com/quadrilaterals.html about different polygons. They will fill out a graphic organizer by drawing each of the shapes and listing the characteristics of each shape.

  5. 3. Students will play a matching game reinforcing knowledge learned in regards to polygons at http://www.mathplayground.com/matching_shapes.html.

  6. Materials • Graphic organizer – table of polygons • Pencil • Computer lab • Headphones • White construction paper • Stencils • Markers • rulers

  7. Assessments • Students will take the brainpop quiz on polygons at brainpop.com and email the results to teachers email address. • Students will design a poster out of polygons and list how many of each shape they used with the names of the shapes on the back of their posters.
