  1. We had a Grounds Development Day with help from: Staff Parents Volunteers from local and National Businesses Thank you to everyone who made this possible! Especially Mrs Chalmers who coordinated the event.

  2. Goodmans coordinated the event • .

  3. The people from Goodmans were office staff from Reading and Hatfield.

  4. Integritas do the landscaping for the Hatfield Business Park

  5. The regional manager from Integritas came down from Leicester

  6. What did Integritas do? • They dug over all the vegetable plot and put down a bark mulch on the paths, staked all the fruit trees , completed the fencing of the whole area and relocated the chicken coop.

  7. Some volunteers came a long way to lend a hand Kingcombe who specialise in ponds and water features and came up from Somerset

  8. What happened at Kingfisher Island? Bulrushes were cut back from the pond and they planted some native water lilies which they had donated.

  9. Our willow was harvested They pollarded the willow and planted  some of the willow whips to make bird hides.

  10. Any thing else? • They also  built a large wood pile to attract insects, hedgehogs etc into the area, rebuilt the compost heaps and emptied the plastic ones . The whole of the two areas were strimmedand tidied up. Integritas donated 3 wheelbarrows, and 5 forks, hoes, spades and rakes and bags of compost  for each veg bed.
