Overview • The final design will be a 12 ft long, 4 ft tall and 5 in think board positioned at angles. • The panels on the ends of the board will be slightly shorter so that children in wheelchairs will be able to roll underneath them and have an opportunity to enjoy all of the activities. Napoli, Smith, Wakefield
Overview • Panel 1-A: Music Panel • Panel 1-B: Memory Game • Panel 2-A: Communication • Panel 2-B: Sonar Panel • Panel 3-A: Create-A-Picture • Panel 3-B: Hand Crank Game Napoli, Smith, Wakefield
Completed Work • Ordered and picked up Arduino microcontroller • Downloaded software and looked into programming code • Additional research on parts to order • Purchased 8 ft. metal pipe for chimes • Letter asking for donation of push buttons • Checked in about HDPE donation letter status • Placed an order for five sonar sensors Napoli, Smith, Wakefield
Project Review - Successes • Began ordering parts • Bought the aluminum pipe for the chimes • Identified a source to determine chime dimensions • Obtained the Arduino board and can now begin programming and learning the language • Clarified responsibilities and long term goals Napoli, Smith, Wakefield
Project Review - Drawbacks • Need a USB connection cord to connect the Arduino board to allow us to program it • The board purchased only came with the microcontroller • We will be assessing what is available in the BME labs for our use • It is still difficult to know exactly what to buy due to the fact that there are so many components to the board • We are waiting to purchase certain items and creating additional donation letters because we are worried about our budget Napoli, Smith, Wakefield
