CornelianCherryDogwood Cornelian Cherry Dogwood is a deciduous shrub, typically growing to 6-9 ft (1.8-2.7 m) tall and wide, with a dense rounded crown. It blooms in early spring before the leaves emerge, with small yellow flowers borne in clusters terminating the bare twigs. The flowers are followed by bright red fruits which ripen in mid to late summer and often persist into winter. The fruit is relished by many birds. The cultivars 'Golden Glory' and 'Variegata', which have yellow and white variegated foliage respectively, are grown as ornamental plants for their decorative bark and stems.
