  2. What Are Hedges? A dense row of low shrubs or trees that serves as a fence or boundary is called a hedge.

  3. Hedges provides the following facilities to us when we plant them in our garden area.

  4. PRIVACY A dense row of low shrubs or trees that serves as a fence or boundary is called a hedge.

  5. COLOR For flowering plants, evergreen hedges make an excellent background and design foundation. They also add winter interest when the rest of the garden is leafless and dormant.

  6. Size Our largest, fastest-growing hedge varieties are mostly evergreen. They can be planted at a height of 6' tall and, in some cases, grow up to 4 feet annually!

  7. SCREENING In contrast to privacy hedges, screening hedges offer dense privacy in the summer but permit light to pass through in the winter.

  8. YEAR-ROUND COLOR Evergreen hedges provide green in the winter, but deciduous hedges offer wonderful seasonal color variations. Some of the best include Bald Cypress, European Beech, and Flame Amur Maple.

  9. UNIQUE TRAITS Those looking for a distinctive hedge should give our deciduous options serious consideration. There are a number of lovely varieties that feature flowers, fruit, and other unique qualities.
