  2. INTRODUCTION This document explains how to get started with affiliate marketing on Clickbank. You will need a free Clickbank account at clickbank.com. We cover the basics as well as tools to make sure you are set up to succeed from the start. You can go more in depth by downloading this ebook. It goes into a lot more detail that is sure to benefit you.

  3. Figure Out Your Niche The first thing you want to do is zero in on is our niche- that is the area or category we want to focus on. Two of the best niches on clickbank is Health & Fitness and E-Business. If you feel these niches are oversaturated, it just shows there is competition; and competition is good as it shows there is demand for products in a particular category. Feel free to also look around in categories you may have an interest in as well. After you find your niche, you want to research the products in that niche to make sure they are professional and profitable. You’ll do so on Clickbank Marketplace- sorting products by gravity will give you a better idea of how well those products are converting. TIP: Aim for products with gravity of 50%-90%.   4. Generally, products that have a Video Sales Letter (VSL) convert better because people like to see what they may be purchasing. So be sure to look at the vendor product pages to determine if they have videos explaining the product and the benefit of buying the product. TIP: Whenever possible, on the vendor product page, sign up as an affiliate. This will ensure that you get access to banners for use on your website or emails, as well as email swipe files that you can copy and paste and add your affiliate link to.

  5. Client Database Next we will need an autoresponder. This is how set up, automate and send emails to customers who signed up to your list by downloading free content such as an ebook. We’ll discuss this more in the chapter Ethical Bribe. My favorite autoresponder (and one I recommend) is MailChimp. Why? Because their basic package is FREE and allows you to have 2000 customers on your list. If you’re starting out online you want to limit expense. And this is a big bang for your buck. Check out MailChimp’s basic package here: Powered by MailChimp. TIP: If you opt for a price package, you’ll get $30 to use inside of MailChimp. Once you’re set up in MailChimp, you want to set up some automation emails. The first one will be the freebie you send customers after they sign up to your list (ebook, white paper, guide, etc.). Then you want to queue up 4 additional emails that will go out one after the other. These will be to add value to customers WITHOUT selling them something. This way you’ll begin to build trust so one day in the future they’ll be more likely to buy something from you. Because now they have a relationship with you.

  6. Landing Page The landing page is where you will send traffic (paid or free) to get prospects to sign up to your list. It’s basically a digital sales letter where you will explain what the product is, the benefits of using said product, and maybe some more information about the company or why the product was created in the first place (the problem that the product fixes), as well as a place where potential clients will leave their names and email. Your very first landing place will be designed to get prospects on your list, so you want to offer them something free like an ebook in a niche they are interested in. Once they are on your list you want to follow the steps from the previous chapter, Client Database. Now, the benefit of using MailChimp as your autoresponder is they have landing pages built into them. With a drag and drop style system, it’s very easy to get the hang of and get your landing page set up and running within no time. TIP: MailChimp also has Sign Up Forms which serve as default landing pages, and are just as easy to use. I recommend using Landing Pages as they look more like a professional one-page website.   7. Ethical Bribe After you have your landing page and autoresponder set up, we get people to sign up for our list by giving them something of value, for free. Well, technically it’s not “free” in the traditional sense. You give them something free (ebook, how to guide, etc.) in exchange for their email address. This is what the business world refers to as an Ethical Bribe. And this is the start of how you build your online empire. Statistically, if you use your list correctly, one email is the value of $1. Now, I know what your thinking. If I want to make 5, 6 figures a month I would need 5, 6 figures worth of email addresses. I understand the logic in that. But once you learn how to engage with your list, one email can net you $5- $10. Now multiply that with the amount of email addresses you have on your list. Yes, it adds up quickly. Plus, you can earn a lot more because generally affiliate vendors add up sells to each product so you end up making higher commissions. Plus, once you get the ball rolling with affiliate marketing, you can add your own product and make even more because you will be the owner of the product, not an affiliate. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. That’s an advanced strategy.

  8. Traffic There are two major ways to get traffic: paid and free. Free is always good but it takes longer, more effort and you may get leads that are not worth your time in the long run. Still, here are some free ways to get traffic: - Joining Facebook Groups, posting great content in the groups and linking to your affiliate products. Always be sure to read the description of the groups so as to not get removed by not following group rules related to posting content. - Youtube Videos. Start a Youtube channel and create videos related to the products you are promoting. Be sure to be engaging, enthusiastic, and if possible be sure you have tried the product yourself. People are more likely to buy if you have tried what you are promoting. Optimize your Title, Description and tags. Add your affiliate link in the description.   9. - Instagram: create an Instagram profile and post 3-4 images related to your affiliate product daily. Use stories as another way to engage with followers. Read this article to learn how to grow your Instagram profile. TIP: Start a business profile and use your brand/company name. Also, use https://linktr.ee/ to add more links to your Instagram profile. These are all great methods but will take you a long time to get going. The best way, which I recommend, is to do paid advertising. You can run paid ads to all the ways we discussed above (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, Youtube Ads). By far, the best way is to use Facebook ads because their system allows you to target customers specific to your niche or product based on various factors. I’ve had great success with Facebook Ads not only for my own business but also running ad campaigns for different businesses ranging from chiropractic offices, residential and commercial cleaning businesses, a stock market investor that created his own software that takes 10 minutes to implement and has made him a millionaire. I’ve also found a way to keep costs low by changing one simple thing inside Facebook’s ads manager and it allows beginners to spend as little as $50/month on ads while getting a great return on investment. Now, in order to get more leads through Facebook ads you have to spend more. That’s just how advertising works.
