Bridging the digital divide Sustainable consumption • Office waste; paper, plastic bottles, cartridges and toners. • End-of-life mobile handsets, project under UN Basel convention • Refurbishing obsolete PC and IT parts and donating them to charity • Establish E-waste learning center in collaboration with community groups. • Paper-less billing methods saving millions of sheets each year… • SMS billing. Internet billing • CD bills for corporate accounts • Over the Air charging for prepaid • Automated work forms; payroll, leave request, procurement, other.
4. Health & Safety: Community & Employees Campaigning for Blood Donation Community drives Participate in ‘Clean Up the World’ campaign since 2004; clean-up beaches, neighborhoods, schools. Engaged in a school program in collaboration with Canada government to collect and recycle solid waste • Mobinil Employees donated blood to help save lives. • Two blood donation campaigns were carried out in coordination with the National Blood Transfusion Services under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Population. Promoting a No-smoking work environment Flu prevention and awareness campaign We observe the WNTD every year and enforce strict no-smoking policies in all our offices
5. Tele-Medicine… the way to the future The Egypt Tele-Derma project • Patient’s data captured and sent via Mobinil’s broadband to analyzes case and issue medical recommendation. • Pilot Phase I completed; 200 cases handled. Estimated end of pilot project January 2011. • Other services can be offered: like chronic disease medication, pregnancy follow-up and others. E-Banking and other new applications to be rolled out soon… Finalizing standards and regulatory approvals.
