  2. Introduction:  Tatkal ticket is one of the scheme provided by the IRCTC for the passenger. The tatkal ticket booking will be open at the 10 am on previous day of journey.  The ticket booking for AC class will be open at 10 am and the sleeper class will be open at 11am.  Tatkal tickets helps the passenger whose travel was unplanned. If the passenger want to travel next day they can use tatkal tickets.  The ticket fare is more than normal booking and less than bus fare. And the number of Tatkal tickets are low.

Tatkal Ticket Booking.  Tatkal ticket booking is similar to the normal ticket booking by using official IRCTC website.  The only difference between normal Ticket and Tatkal ticket is PNR status. When the passenger are trying to book ticket in normal ticket booking PNR number is provided by IRCTC and we have to check PNR status before our travel.  In Tatkal ticket we can book tickets for all classes like AC 1st class , AC 2ndClass, and Sleeper.
