Henshaws doing… Henshaws Means Business: an approach to engaging with local employers Partners in Craft: enduring partnership with national company in sustainable enterprise Professional placements for students from local Universities and colleges (Therapy, Social Work etc) Workshops for Parents Conference/training venue Link courses for local schools Technology project partnerships through JISC Short breaks for children with disabilities Accreditation partnerships

  5. RNC doing… Partnership with Forestry commission. Making a sensory trail in Wyre forest and a smaller copy at RNC Partnership with Hereford College of Art to provide work based learning opportunities in media production and music technology for students with visual impairment. Has led to ‘Live at the Chapel ‘ productions. Partnership with FA to establish a football academy and further develop blind football Partnership with local PCT in an angling club. RNC provides help and advice about access and safety Partnership with Blind Cricket England and Wales and Herefordshire County cricket Board to develop blind cricket at RNC and widen participation in sport within college. Partnership with Leonardo da Vinci programme backed by EU, for practical projects allowing educational exchanges with students from a college for students with visual impairment in France.

  7. Derwen doing… Derwen considers partnerships as an essential aspect of its ongoing support for learners’ needs and the process of continuous institutional improvement. Involvement in local and national initiatives provides new avenues of opportunity for all learners and staff together with a system of benchmarks against which the college can measures its effectiveness. Trust, integrity, professionalism and a willingness to work collaboratively in both formal and informal partnerships. Examples for partnerships; Shropshire, Hereford and Worcestershire Professional Development Partnership (PDP) group – providing cpd Whittington Castle and grounds – students working on the up keep of the grounds and working in the cafe Staffordshire University – developing LLDD teacher training modules SFA inclusive skills competitions
