What are typhoons? • Typhoons are located in the Northwest Pacific Ocean. • They are caused by tropical depressions in the South China Sea. • The maximum wind velocity must exceed 119 kilometers per hour.
How are they created? (1) → Seawater heatedby sunlight causes rising air currents Water vapor in the sky cools and becomes cumulonimbus clouds.
How are they created? (2) → Hot and humid air blows anti-clockwisenear the center of the depression. Clouds pile up and a typhoon develops.
