WASH • Do you complete WASH in every household or every other household? • If your respondent has two 10 L containers and she made 2 journeys to collect water yesterday, how many journeys do you input into the phone? • When the respondent shows you where she stores her drinking water, what are you looking for? • Whether they are narrow necked or covered? • How much she stores? • If the respondent didn’t collect water yesterday, would you still ask about the capacity of the containers she uses to collect water? • You and your neighbour share a toilet. You have 3 people in your family, your neighbour has 5 people in her family. How many households share this toilet? • 8 • 2

Food security • What interviewing skills are important to remember when asking about coping strategies? • When you are asking about dietary diversity • Go through the list and ask about each food item in turn • Ask her to remember all the foods and then input this into the phone • When asking about the dietary diversity, what period of time are we interested in? • When asking about the dietary diversity, who are we interested in? • The respondent answering the questionnaire (main caretaker) • Anyone in the household

Woman • Should we do the ‘Woman’ questionnaire in every household or every other household? • Should we take the Hb of a pregnant lady? • If the woman is absent from the household, what should we do? • Mark her absent • Return two times and then mark her absent if she has not returned • Go to the clinic to find her
