  2. What Is Fatty Acid A fatty acid is a kind of fat, fruits, vegetable oils, seeds, nuts, animal fats, and fish oils. It refers to any lengthy hydrocarbon chain containing a single carboxylic group and an aliphatic tail. It is created via hydrolysis, which is the breakdown of fats (typically triglycerides or phospholipids).
