This study examines personal aggression and its relationship with core self-evaluation, optimism, and emotional intelligence. The Aggression Scale, CSE, Optimism, and Emotional Intelligence measures were used to assess participants' behaviors and attitudes. The findings provide valuable insights into the links between personal aggression and individual traits.

DV: Personal Aggression • Acts that inflict harm on individuals, such as verbal harassment, assault, and spreading rumors • Said something hurtful to someone at work • Acted rudely toward someone at work • Lost my temper while at work • Made fun of someone at work
Aggression Scale • 5 point scale • 1 = never • 2 = 1-3 times • 3 = 4-10 times • 4 = 11-20 times • 5 = more than 20 times
CSE • 5 point scale (strongly disagree, disagree, neutral, agree, strongly agree) • Items • I am confident I get the success I deserve in life • Sometimes I feel depressed (r) • When I try, I generally succeed • Sometimes when I fail I feel worthless (r) • I complete tasks successfully • Sometimes, I do not feel in control of my work (r) • Overall, I am satisfied with myself • I am filled with doubts about my competence (r) • I determine what will happen in my life • I do not feel in control of my success at school (r) • I am capable of coping with most of my problems • There are times when things look pretty bleak and hopeless to me (r) 5 point scale. Optimism • Generalized expectancy of positive outcomes • In uncertain times, I usually expect the best • If something can go wrong for me it will (r) • I’m always optimistic about my future • I hardly ever expect things to go my way (r) • I rarely count on good things happening to me (r) • Overall, I expect more good things to happen to me than bad 5 point scale. Emotional Intelligence • The ability to perceive accurately, appraise, and express emotion; the ability to access and/or generate feelings when they facilitate thought; the ability to understand emotion and emotional knowledge; and the ability to regulate emotions to promote emotional and intellectual growth. 7 point scale. Totally disagree to totally agree
Self-emotions Appraisal • I have a good sense of why I have certain feelings most of the time • I have good understanding of my own emotions • I really understand what I feel • I always know whether or not I am happy
Others-Emotions Appraisal (OEA) • I always know my friends’ emotions from their behavior • I am a good observer of others’ emotions • I am sensitive to the feelings and emotions of others • I have good understanding of the emotions of people around me
