  4. Processing • Device that processes the data it receives • Example: • RAM • CPU • ALU

  5. Output • Device that displays the processed data • Examples: • Monitor • Speakers • Printer • Fax machine

  6. Storage • Where data is stored for future use • Example: • Memory card • ROM

  7. How a Computer processes Data Through the machine cycle

  8. Machine Cycle Process • Ram delivers data to CPU • Control Unit “Brains” tells the ALU “Worker” what to do • ALU processes data then sends it back • CU sends data back to RAM
