  2. Agenda Background RTCA DO-224c (MASPS) RTCA DO-281b / EUROCAE ED-92b (MOPS) ICAO Doc 9776 Alignment Schedule 2

Background • VDL Mode 2 Multi-frequency enhancement is needed to support NextGen and SESAR programs • RTCA SC-214 VDLSG / EUROCAE WG-92 / AEEC DLK collaborated to update the VDL Mode 2 Standards to include the “multi-frequency” operation as established within the AEEC 631 Supplement 6 characteristics • Such Standards include: • AEEC 631-6 • DO-224C (RTCA Minimum Aviation System Performance Standard) • DO-281B (RTCA Minimum Operational Performance Standard) • ED-92B (EUROCAE MOPS) • ICAO Doc 9776 VDL2 Technical Manual

DO-224c MASPS status • Draft DO-224c • Approved for Final Review And Comment (FRAC) in Plenary 12, Berlin, April, 2011 • RTCA VDLSG / EUROCAE WG-92 collectively resolved all FRAC comments • RTCA SC-214 Approved DO-224c in Plenary 13, Paris, September 2011 • RTCA PMC approved DO-224c publication in December 2011

DO-281b / ED92b status • DO-281b • Aligned with DO-224c and A631-6 • Approved for FRAC in October, 2011 • RTCA VDLSG / EUROCAE WG-92 collectively resolved all FRAC comments by Jan 30, 2012 • RTCA PMC publication approval in March 2012 • ED-92b • Technical content same as DO-281b, with different traceability references (ED-92b traces back to ICAO Doc 9776) • EUROCAE approved its publication in October 2012

  6. ICAO Doc 9776 status • Committees collaboration to review ICAO Doc 9776 VDL Mode 2 Technical Manual updates to ensure alignment with DO-224c, DO-281b, ED-92b and A631-6 • Submit ICAO Doc 9776 Edition 2 to ICAO ACP WG-M (Jan 23 – 25, 2013) towards publication aspects
