  4. Objective: Students will find the percent of discount and the sale price. How do we find the discount? Step 1: Change the percent of discount into a decimal. Step 2: Multiply the decimal times the original price. This gives you your discount OR The amount that you are saving Walmart is having a sale. All DVDs are on sale for 20% off. The original price of the new Harry Potter DVD is $15. How much money will you save if you but it on sale?

  5. Objective: Students will find the percent of discount and the sale price. Sale Price Finding the sale price is easy once you know the discount, or amount that you’re saving. Step 1: Take the original price and subtract the discount. This is your sale price!

Step 1: Write 30% as a decimal .30 Step 2: Multiply 68 x .30 20.4 So we are saving $20.40 (our discount) Let’s find the sale price . . . . . .
