2. The brand POWERTOOLS by Dennis Bernard is a line of color additives that can be used with any manufacturer’s (color + developer based) color line. In addition, many of the POWERTOOLS products can be used simultaneously in the same formulation. All POWERTOOLS products come standard with a 3-year shelf life.

3. The color accelerator What is TCA, The Color Accelerator? TCA is a hair color additive consisting of antioxidants and vitamins. This naturally softens the cuticle allowing the ammonia and developer to easily open the cuticle and deposit the color. In addition, It slows down the processing of hydrogen peroxide while driving color molecules deeper into the hair shaft. TCA can be used with any manufacturer’s lighteners & semi, demi, & permanent colors that are peroxide activated, conditioners & permanent wave neutralizers. *TCA can NOT be used with oil-based color.

4. The color accelerator How does it work? The formula’s antioxidants (Vitamin E Oil) allow TCA to help develop the color molecules completely in less time with or without heat. Jojoba Oil conditions & moisturizes the hair and scalp preventing any damage done to the hair by chemical services. The process is stable from beginning to end. Peroxide becomes unstable when oxygen attempts to escape which has a tremendous effect on the whole coloring process. TCA encompasses the oxygen to stabilize the peroxide, forcing it to work more efficiently.

5. The color accelerator More than just an accelerator: • Perm & Wave Services – Add 3-5 drops to the perm neutralizer & shake well. TCA eliminates curl relaxation & super conditions for shiny and resilient curls. • Foils, Hi-Lifts & Lighteners – Add 17-20 drops to your formula to avoid that mushy, hyper-elastic state. Completion time 5-8 minutes. • Deep Conditioning Spa Treatment – For the best moisturizing conditioning pack, mix 20-25 drops with two ounces of conditioner & let the client sit under a low heat dryer for 10 minutes. The results are amazing!

6. The color accelerator More than just an accelerator: • Resistant Grays – TCA aids in gray coverage. For super resistant gray, add TCA with our Gray Oxidizing Drops (G.O.D.) to your formula.  Use The Resistant Assistant (TRA) prior to color services for trouble spots. • Deeper Color Penetration- TCA naturally softens the cuticle allowing the color to drive deeper into the hair shaft. • Color Fade Out – TCA has been shown to reduce color fade out as much as 95%.

The color accelerator Three Processing Options When Adding TCA to Color: • To condition hair and prevent color fade out with minimum acceleration, process color as stated on the manufacturers directions. • To process in half the time, use a plastic cap (no holes) with body heat. • To process in 4-10 minutes, use a plastic cap (with 16 holes) and place client under a low heat dryer.

9. Color out system What is it? COS, The Color Out System, removes color by gently shrinking the size of the color molecules and removing it from the hair. The hair is returned to its natural color without drying the hair out or increasing porosity.

10. Color out system How does it work? COS works by reversing the growth process of the color dye molecules. When coloring, the para dyes have small molecules that easily pass through the cuticle imbrications. Once they have entered the cortex, through oxidation, they grow into larger molecules that become permanently held & cannot be rinsed out through the imbrications. COS shrinks the dye molecules back down to a size that can be easily rinsed out.

Color out system Why use COS? • Gently removes permanent, demi & semi-permanent hair color. • Safe & Easy to use • 20 minutes service that shrinks the dye molecule and allows it to be rinsed out with warm water • Ammonia & bleach free • Recolor the same day • Does not require heat • Does not remove direct dye • Mix 1:1 Ratio (2-4 applications)

12. Color out system Application Directions: Simply combine equal amounts of Part 1 & Part 2, mix for 30 seconds and apply to dry hair. Process for 20 minutes to shrink molecules and remove all deposited color back to its natural underlying state. Rinse with warm water for 5-8 minutes depending on the length & thickness of hair. Shampoo well with a clarifying shampoo & rinse again thoroughly. Do the 10V Reduction Test throughout entire head. (important)

13. Color out system What is the 10V Reduction Test? To assure that all of the artificial pigment is removed, apply 5 or 10 volume developer to the entire head and let sit for 10 minutes. If there is any artificial pigment still in the hair, it will re-oxidize & the treated hair will go darker. If the hair has re-darkened, repeat the whole process Do not recolor the hair until all of the pigment has been removed.

14. The Resistant Assistant What is it? • The Resistant Assistant, TRA, is a three minute pre-softener that provides quicker hair color coverage for super resistant hairlines, trouble spots and/or whole resistant heads.  • TRA can be apply before wrapping perms to soften resistant areas andon coarse or resistant hair prior to straightening to help breakdown the curl/wave faster.

The Resistant Assistant How to use TRA before Color Services: • Wear gloves and shake bottle well. • Hold sprayer 2-3 inches from trouble spots; do not saturate. • Lightly finger massage into resistant areas. • Apply color right over TRA and process as usual. How to use TRA before Perming: • Shampoo and towel dry. • Wear gloves and shake bottle well. • Spray the entire head, comb through, wrap & process as usual.

16. The Color stain remover What is it? The Color Stain Remover, TCS, is a technologically advanced blend of hypo-allergenic soaps and oils used before the hair color processing as a barrier cream to protect the hairline from staining. TCS contains no blocker and will not impede the color process on hairlines. Its dual purpose formula can also be used afterwards with a damp towel to remove excess color from skin, clothing, equipment, work surfaces and color embedded in nail cuticles. Shake periodically as it may separate. Available in 10 oz.

The Color stain remover Additional Benefits: • Tinting Eyebrows – Before coloring, apply TCS around the eyebrow to prevent skin discoloration. • Dyeing Beards – Apply TCS directly around and into your facial. Be sure to cover the skin underneath to prevent skin discoloration. • Clothing Stains - TCS works bet when used immediately after color staining on most fabrics. • Work Surfaces – Apply TCS with a wet cloth on counter tops, styling chairs & tools to remove stains.

18. Stop The Burn What is it? Stop the Burn, STB, is a conditioning agent infused with menthol that protects the hair & scalp from the effects of harsh chemical processes. It prevents chemical burns, itching, scalp irritation, and peroxide damage from color, perms & other Chemical services. STB will not affect the processing action of any chemical services. Available in 2 oz.

19. Stop The Burn How to Use: • Add 20 drops of STB to color mixture, bleach or perm solution. • STB can also be applied directly from the bottle to the scalp for targeted areas.

20. Color balance corrector What is it? Color Balance Corrector, CBC, is a violet based formula that eliminates brassy or gold tones in lighteners (on the scalp lighteners & foils). CBC eliminates red tones from being pulled in brown shades. • Available in 1 oz.

21. Color balance corrector How to Use: • Tinting, Toning & Bleaching - Add ¼ oz to your color or bleach mixture, mix well & apply as usual. • Shampooing – Pour shampoo into the palm of your hands, add 4-5 drops of CBC and rub palms together to mix well. Shampoo as usual.

22. Color balance corrector Increase Your Retail Sales Create a client specific shampoo by adding CBC to customize your retail shampoo. Simply add ½ bottle of CBC to an 8 oz shampoo/full bottle of CBC for 16 oz. Your client at-home customized shampoo will eliminate brassy & gold tones between salon visits. And you will secure a retail customer!

23. Color Filler Insurance What is it? • Color Filler Insurance, CFI, is formulated with proteins & amino acids. This pretreatment insures even color absorption as it equalizes porosity by filling the hair with proteins & amino acids. • CFI protects the hair against new chemical damage while sealing color within the cortex increasing tensile strength, elasticity, volume & shine. • Available in 4 oz.

24. Color Filler Insurance How to Use: Spray on hair to saturate the entire head prior to color, bleach, lightener & texture services to help repair damaged hair and to prevent breakage. Leave in for 15-20 minutes then blot excess. Do NOT rinse. Apply color or chemical service directly over CFI treatment then shampoo, rinse, condition & dry.

25. Protector, conditioning,styling aid What is it? Protector, Conditioning, Styling Aid, PCS, returns the hair to its normal PH level by neutralizing the residual peroxide left in the hair preventing formation of cysteic acid, color fadeout & perm relaxation. PCS is formulated with plant extracts for conditioning. It can be used as a cutting tool, styling aid and after perming to equal out porosity. PCS protects the hair from damaging ultraviolet rays. Apply at the pool, beach or before tanning sessions. Available in 10 oz.

Protector, conditioning,styling aid How to Use: • For Salon Use: • Apply PCS to hair after any services involving peroxide, distribute evenly and style as desired. • For Home Use: • Apply to damp hair and style as desired. • Spray on dry hair to reactivate or touch up desired styles. • Apply at the pool, beach or before tanning sessions to protect the hair from damaging ultra violet rays.

27. Color shade lifter What is it? Color Shade Lifter, CSL, is a unique ammonia & bleach free formula that removes and lifts up to 1-3 shades (not levels) of artificial color from the hair. The hair is left feeling soft, in great condition & ready to recolor. CSL lightens on tone & is excellent for brightening muddy ends. It takes out off tone deposit spots occurring due to porosity. CSL is not a color remover when trying to go between levels. Available in 4 oz.

28. Color shade lifter How to Use: Shampoo lightly & towel dry. Mix equal amounts of CSL & 30 volume cream developer. If needed, add more cream developer to achieve a pasty texture that works best for you. Apply using tint bottle or brush for better control. Work into trouble spots or whole heads; apply to darkest area first. Process as needed (30 minute maximum) and test for lift desired. Use a low heat dryer & plastic cap for maximum lift in minimum time. If the desired lift is not achieved, re-apply. Shampoo, rinse & condition. Can be used with 40 volume cream developer with no heat.

29. Grey oxidizing drops What is it? Grey Oxidizing Drops, G.O.D. is a blend of ammonia and all three color pigments that can be used in any manufacturer’s color to cover 100% resistant gray completely. Permanent, demi & semi-permanent color performance is improved by adding G.O.D. to the formula. G.O.D. helps color penetrate better, preserves color longer & adds depth & shine. It does not affect processing time. Available in .25 oz &1 oz.

HLT gives you more versatility & control with your client services and will not alter product processing or performance. Available in 2 oz.

32. Hair color n’ lightenerthickener How to Use: • Add 20 drops of HLT for short hair, 23 drops for medium hair & 25 drops for long hair into your developer and mix thoroughly. • Allow to stand for 30 seconds to thicken mixture. • Add the color to the developer, mix thoroughly and apply as usual.
