  13. My response You have listed several passages that teach we must have faith in order to be saved. I say amen to every one of them. But they don’t prove your position. You need to find a Scripture that says we are saved by faith only. The only passage in the Bible that says faith only is James 2:24: “You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.”

  14. My response, cont. Will you amen the following passages? Hebrews 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

  15. My response, cont. 1 Peter 3:21 There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9, Luke 13:3, Matthew 10:32-33, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, Revelation 2:10

  16. My response, cont. You also have contrasted the Law of Moses with grace. I agree, we no longer live under the Law of Moses (Galatians 3:24-25). But we do live under the law of Christ (1 Corinthians 9:21), and we will be judged by that law, the gospel, in the last day (John 12:48, Romans 2:16). If we have been disobedient, we will be sent to hell (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9, Matthew 7:21-23).

  17. Gabriel Soto’s response to me Amos im not gonna lie I stopped reading when you said I was arguing with nathan. Its kinda sad because im sure you probably had really good points and spent time putting together your probably compelling argument, but God reminded me of edifying and building up. Im sure you can find the scripture more quickly than I can so I wont bother giving it lol. But to be honest amos I dont I feel encouraged when brothers argue and/or discuss (whatever makes you sleep better at night lol) I feel encouraged when I see unity! Im sure you could agree that when unity happens between believers its radically encouraging.

  18. Gabriel Soto’s response to me There was a holland theologian going around doing a study on all the holland churches and he made a incredible observation he said "the churches in holland have picked truth over unity" what he meant was that all these churches decided on what they thought was truth over unity. But amos I want you to know my heart. I think truth is less in a doctrine and more of person and His name is Jesus and in Jesus there's always unity.

  19. Gabriel Soto’s response to me So this ridiculously long comment to say amosim super glad your my brother! You know scrpitures like crazy! You stand for your faith! You have a super cool and very prophetic name! And you make me joyful to be in the Kingdom. Im not good at arguing but I really love encouraging and building up! Be blessed brother!

  20. My response to gabriel Gabriel, I used the word “argue” in this sense: give reasons or cite evidence in support of an idea, action, or theory, typically with the aim of persuading others to share one's view. The Scriptures encourage us to argue for the truth. Jude 3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God[a] and our Lord Jesus Christ.

  21. My response to gabriel • 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, • Titus 1:9-11 holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict. 10 For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.

  22. My response to gabriel • 2 Timothy 4:1-2 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at[a] His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. • Jesus argued frequently (Matthew 21, Matthew 22, etc.) Paul argued frequently (Acts 17, Acts 15, etc.) • The truth is God’s word. John 17:17

  23. My response to gabriel • It is by His word that faith is generated, which is necessary to be saved. Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:6 • His word saves us. John 6:63, 68; 1 Corinthians 1:21, Romans 1:16, John 8:32 • His word builds us up and gives us an inheritance among the sanctified. Acts 20:32, Ephesians 4:15

  24. My response to gabriel • His word will judge us in the last day. John 12:48 • We have unity when we speak the same things and are of the same mind and judgment (1 Corinthians 1:10). We are of the same mind and judgment and speak the same things when every man speaks as the oracles of God (1 Peter 4:11). • God bless you as you study His word.

  25. Nathan Miller’s final response Well I see Amos I forgot you were church of Christ you believe that there are 4 conditions to salvation that's fine since that's your belief on this we must disagree. But there should be no problem with that since church of Christ is the only real church and y'all are the only ones going to heaven. Thank you so much for proven my points on the deference between religion and relationship. Between regulations and love the difference between knowing the father and knowing a god. When you take away the love and try to fill it with rules it will never work. I have

  26. Nathan Miller’s final response had encounter with my Father that you can never explain away I have seen people filled and saved and there life change that your religion can never never explain. I have seen and tasted and felt The Lord and he was not in scripture but standing right in front of me. When you see someone that is hurting and you can give them the father love an not just quote scripture then you will understand the true gospel Grace is not a thing it's a person and His name is Jesus. I pray that you are blessed and your family is healthy and safe. And that you grow in His love everyday .

  27. Closing remarks to Nathan Nathan, I’m going to ignore the personal attacks in your last post and let God’s word be my closing statement. I hope there is somebody reading this who will be fair-minded and search the Scriptures to see whether these things are so (Acts 17:11).

  28. Closing remarks to Nathan John 14:21-24 “21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.”

  29. Closing remarks to Nathan 1 John 5:2-3 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 2:3-6 “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

  30. Closing remarks to Nathan Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

  31. Closing remarks to Nathan John 12:48 “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” Acts 17:11 “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”
