  3. A Make a fist with your thumb out

  4. B Hand open with fingers together and thumb bent

  5. C Curl fingers and thumb

  6. D Hold index finger up and bend rest to touch thumb

  7. E Bend fingers to touch side of thumb

  8. F Bend index finger to thumb while others are straight

  9. G Index finger and thumb together while other fingers are bent and move hand to side

  10. H Index and middle finger straight while other fingers and thumb are bent and move hand to side

  11. I Pinkie finger straight up while other fingers and thumb are bent

  12. J Make the “I” sign and move hand to make a hook

  13. K Index and middle finger straight up with thumb in front while other fingers are bent

  14. L Index finger and thumb straight out with other fingers bent

  15. M Make a fist with index, middle, and ring fingers bent over thumb

  16. N Make a fist with Index and middle fingers over thumb

  17. O Curl fingers over touching index finger to thumb

  18. P Make the letter “K” then turn hand down and split fingers

  19. Q Index finger and thumb straight out but apart then turn hand upside down

  20. R Index finger crossing over middle finger

  21. S Make a fist with thumb over top of the fist

  22. T Make a fist with thumb under index finger

  23. U Index an middle finger straight up together

  24. V Index and middle finger straight up spread apart

  25. W Index, middle, and ring fingers straight up and all spread apart

  26. X Index finger curled

  27. Y Index,middle, and ring fingers bent over while thumb and pinkie are straight

  28. Z With index finger draw a “Z”

  29. Let’s try some words Hold and rock a baby

  30. Mom Use open hand and put your thumb to your chin

  31. Dad Open hand and put thumb to forehead

  32. Hearing Impairment “an impairment in hearing, whether permanent or fluctuating, that adversely affects a child's educational performance” Deafness "a hearing impairment that is so severe that the child is impaired in processing linguistic information through hearing, with or without amplification" What’s the difference between Hearing Impairment and Deafness?

  34. Conductive Sensorineural Conductive and Sensorineural • result from damage to the delicate sensory hair cells of the inner ear or the nerves which supply it • caused by diseases or obstructions in the outer or middle ear

  35. Central Mixed Central and Mixed • results from damage or impairment to the nerves or nuclei of the central nervous system • problem occurs in both the outer or middle and the inner ear
