  1. How to Lead a Child to Christ

  2. Keeping Accurate Records • Get Decision forms on clipboards • Help one child at a time, if possible • Get the child’s name. • Take child in counseling room and sit beside him or her or across from him or her.

  3. Why did you come forward today? • As much as possible, try to ask open-ended questions. • No matter why the child came forward, make this experience a positive one!

  4. Have you ever done this before? • We want the children to understand eternal security. (Once a person is truly saved they are always saved.) • Once again, make this a positive experience.

  5. “Yes”. . .Tell me what you did back then? • This is an open-ended question, it will allow the child to tell you exactly what they did. • This is better than asking, “Have you been saved before?” They could say, “Yes.” And you won’t know what they believe.

  6. Salvation Everyone has sinned • Speak in simple terms! 1 • Let the child know that even you, as an adult have sinned. • If the child refuses to admit they are a sinner, then thank the child for coming forward and pray with him or her. • If the child doesn’t admit to being a sinner don’t try to convince them.

  7. 2 Death in hell forever. • Be truthful but don’t be overly descriptive in a way that would frighten the child. Jesus Christ died for your sin. 3 • How did Jesus die? • Did He stay dead?

  8. 4 Receive Jesus Christ as your savior. • Explain that Jesus gave us this special gift, of dying on the cross for our sins because He loves us and wants us to spend “forever” with Him in heaven. Admit you are a sinner A Believe that Jesus Died, was buried and rose again for you B Call Upon Jesus to Save you c

  9. Call Upon Jesus to Save you c • Try to get the child to pray their own prayer to God. You’re not done yet!! • Deal with the child about eternal security.

  10. Be sure to record whatever decision the child makes. - Salvation - Assurance of Salvation - Rededication - Call to Ministry - Other

  11. Work hard to get accurate Info - Get the name and age of Child - Get the name of the Church and town where it is located. - Get the name of Church that brought the child. - Get cabin name from wristband

  12. Encourage the child to; • Tell Sponsors back at the cabin. • Tell your Pastor at the cabin or at home. • Tell your church during the invitation • Tell your Mother and Father • Tell your friends. • Follow Jesus in Baptism • Pray Daily • Attend Sunday School and church
