About WCTOH The event • is hosted every three years in a new country • is the most important vehicle for the progress of Global Tobacco Control History • starting from the mid-sixties, so far 13 World Conferences have taken place • 11 of these conferences were organized in industrialized countries and only 2 in developing countries • India is the third developing country to have ever bagged the Conference • Civil society groups with the support of the respective country governments organized all these conferences
