  1. Foster Care Children-India OBJECTIVE - To ensure that all destitute and abandoned children receive the basic necessities of life: home, food, shelter, clothing, medical care and a basic education. GOALS: 1) To reduce the number of destitute children without adequate care and to provide them with a basic education. 2) To provide a happy family atmosphere in which the young children will develop their personality and enjoy their freedom.

  2. Foster Care India Home • Opened in 2006 in rented space for 20 children. • 350 children were treated with dental sealants in Fall 2008. • Programs Include: Hearing Tests Eye Tests and Eyeglasses Sewing Centers Medical and Dental Care Mobile Pharmacy Safe Foster Home • Purchased a new van for transporting children. • Purchased 3½ acres of land and built permanent home - completed in May 2008.

  3. Introduction • Caring for Foster Children in India • Cora E. White, International Director • Our staff consist of volunteers and mentors who provide love, shelter, food and friendship. • Staff, Board Member and audiologist pictured in the photo.

Children at Risk In India! • Approximately 100,000 homeless children live in the state of Andhra Pradesh, South India • Children are abused, exploited and neglected. • We can only afford to support a small number of children. With your support we will increase the numbers to fifty by late 2009.

  5. Feeling Happy and Safe • Two of the girls rescued from begging on the street. • Children are forced into begging to support their families. • For only $30.00 per month you can support one child with basic needs, food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, and friendship.

  6. Sewing Center • Three Sewing Centers are open for rural poor women and girls. • This is a representation of one sewing center. • Women and girls are waiting to use a sewing machine. $125 will purchase one machine to go home with the women.

  7. Rescued children • Children are rescued from sleeping on concrete slabs, peddling articles in trains or on footpaths. • Trafficking continues to a large extent to be synonymous with sexual abuse of young children. • These children are now enrolled in school and have made new friends and are healthy and happy in their new home.

  8. Our Medical Service Without added cost, our children are provided the following services: • Medical Care • Dental Care (tooth paste/brush) • Hearing Tests & Referrals • Eye Tests and Eyeglasses • Medication Included in the basic $30. per month sponsorship, each child’s care includes housing, food, clean water, schooling and mentoring services within a loving family home setting.

  9. Medical Clinic • Our Mobile Medical Clinic operates in various villages. • Thousands of poor people are treated without cost, each month. • Volunteer eye examiners and optical makers are needed. • Annual Audiologist Services are donated and needed on a permanent basis.

  10. The right staff • Children need people in their lives who care about them and can love them. • It’s important for children to feel secure and safe in their own home. • Our staff are substitute parents, mentors and role models to the children in our home.

  11. Public Support Needed • A photo and short history of child will be sent to each sponsor. • We ask a commitment of one year sponsorship for each child at $360. per year.   13. Mom Cora Blessing Home - India • May, 2008, we opened our new home and 28 children moved in. • The home, dedicated to it’s founder, Cora E. White of Madison, WI, USA, is called “Mom Cora Blessing Home” is located in Nallamadu Village, Andhra Pradesh, South India • The home will provide care for 50 children, boys and girls, ages 6-18.

Each • Purchase Water Buffalo to provide fresh milk and/or meat for children • Make a tax-deductible donation to help support our children’s home • Purchase a Sewing Machine for women and girls to learn an income-generating trade • Sponsor one or more children per month
