Problem Statement • Proposes a mechanism in response to draft-ietf-sipping-presence-scaling-requirements • Meets all of the requirements, including preserving privacy and flexible authorization and composition policies
Basic Mechanism SUB buddylist SUB joe@b.com From: alice@a.com NOTIFY With PIDF ACL: bob SUB buddylist NOTIFY SUB joe@b.com From: carol@a.com SUB buddylist b.com alice bob carol a.Com RLS
Properties • Doesn’t reveal anything to a.com they can’t get otherwise • Allows presentity domain policy controls over how much it wants to be contacted with subscriptions • Does not reveal policies to originating domain, only grouping of users that share the same view • Allows policies to change at any time – updated NOTIFY delivers new ACL
Open Technical Issues • Dealing with multiple RLSs with same target presentity • Do we need all modes of flexibility that are in here?
