Organization Background/Need • ITB at EDD has about 500 IT staff • Developers, Analysts, DBAs, Network Engineers, etc • Several Projects occurring at same time • Shortage of specific IT staff common (ex: System Architect) • ITB needed more PM standardization
RMP Objective • Implement Resource Management Processes, and develop/implement ITB Project Management Processes using MS Project Server 2003.

Teaching the Tool • Pcubed – Expertise • RMP Waves - Strategy to roll out use of tool to about 80 staff every two months, while also providing support to ensure quality. • RMP Waves consist of: • Training – Schedule Owner, Team Member • Support – Dedicated RMP Administrator
Getting Schedules into the Tool • Schedule structure knowledge – Pcubed, PMO PMM (2005 California Best Award) • Initial Schedule Setup – Templates, Support • Schedule Update Cycle - Support
