What is the Alliance? • Mission: To advance energy efficiency world-wide through policy, education, research, technology deployment, market transformation and communication initiatives. • Headquartered in Washington, D.C. with operations in Mexico, Eastern Europe, South Africa, Mexico, India and across the U.S. • Chaired by Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) and James Rogers (CEO, Duke Energy) with strong bi-partisan congressional, corporate & public interest leadership.
What is the Alliance? • NGO coalition of 150+ prominent business, government, environmental and consumer leaders who promote the efficient and clean use of energy worldwide. • Catalyst for partnership and coalition building to undertake policy, education and outreach and programmatic work that advances energy efficiency in every energy end use sector and the power supply sector.
Why an Energy Efficiency Global Forum? Given the Growth of World-wide Energy Demand and an increasing focus on Global Climate Change, EE Global was developed to: • Demonstrate that energy efficiency is the cheapest, quickest and cleanest resource for meeting the world’s ever-increasing demand for energy. • Foster a more vibrant, global marketplace for energy-efficient products and services. • Forge strategic alliances and partnerships among international representatives. • Educate a wide array of consumers, public and media on the benefits of, and need for, energy efficiency. • Share and migrate energy-efficiency best practices across international borders and industry sectors.

Plenary Sessions Plenary Luncheon Working Together – A Look at International Implementation Partnerships Wednesday, April 29th from 12:15 pm to 1:45 pm The G8 countries + 3 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the UK, the US, the EU plus China, India and Korea) have agreed to establish the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC) as a means to enhance global energy security, while simultaneously combating global climate change. Join us for this special luncheon as we listen to the Chair of the IPEEC as he/she outlines the goals and objectives of this high-level forum which has been formed to facilitate a broad range of actions that yield high efficiency gains. Closing Plenary Session What is the Real Potential for Energy Efficiency? – Contrasting Perspectives Wednesday, April 29th from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm CEO level representatives from research and environmental organizations and government institutions will provide insight and perspective on the potential for energy efficiency, and its role in achieving energy security and perhaps, most importantly, environment imperatives.
