Pruning your Computer • Remove toolbars and games—especially free ones • Run your program updates • Java and Adobe are near weekly
Run Windows Updates • You can open IE and click Tools, Windows Update • Win7– type update in the Search Box
If Internet has Slowed just for you • If your internet browser is running slow, take a look at Add/Remove Programs for: • Toolbars (especially if there are multiples), any instance of the word “bar” • Websearch, Screensaver, and/or especially Freeze.com • iWin, Rebate Lotto, etc.
IE Toolbar Checklist • Banner/Pubs/AIMS/Learn/4H Online won’t open? • Check for Extra toolbars
Backup and Cleanup • Carbonite— Call Center will be rolling out Carbonite to County Offices • Ccleaner— will scan and remove temp files/website accumulation– run manually
Updates on the Closet Computer • The Presentation laptop or one that has been off for a while needs updated
Make Phishing Stand Out • Limit the amount of “possibly valid" choices to make phishing emails stand out • Separate your business and personal email accounts
Work Email and Everything Else • Create separate email account to sign up for newsletters/coupons • Create filters to forward personal emails to another account

Out of Email Space • Delete mail with large attachments and flush email trash • Contact Call Center about scheduling an Outlook installation
Passwords: Online and Off • They need tobememorable • They need to be different between personal and business lives
IT Controlled Passwords • Outside of the Call Center, its unlikely that anyone needs your password • Your passwords from IT change every 90 days (except Zimbra)
One Password Fits All Locks • Systems controlled by IT require the following: Never used, 8-20 characters in length, start with a capitalized Letter, and a mix of letters and numbers. e.g. Ake4evar, Tr1sta1n, or Tr1cke21
