It was a beautiful, sunny day. The sun was shining, the light reflected off the clouds, the birds were flying happily through the sky.
Jesus’ friends and helpers were in a small, stuffy room in Jerusalem.
And the doors? They were locked as well.
“Wait for me in Jerusalem, I will send you a special present. God’s power is going to come into you, God’s Holy Spirit is coming.”, Jesus told them. That is why they were waiting in the room.
In reality, they were only being frightened and hiding. It’s on their fault, their best friend left, important people and leaders were looking for them, and they were given a task that they didn’t know how to do!
So now they were praying and reminiscing about how, from the beginning, God had been planning his secret rescue plan.
A very strong wind came into the room! Through the walls, and rustling the straw on the floor!
And then! On everyone’s head, shining in the dark, there was a flame! However, it didn’t hurt nor burn.
And inside of them, in their hearts, they felt an odd, foreign warmth. As if all the coldness and hate were slowly melting away. Like the cracks in their hearts, all that was broken, were mending back together.
They didn’t know how it happened, however they do know that God’s power has struck their hearts ablaze.
Jesus was coming to live inside them! They had watched Jesus leave, but now, he was closer than ever before! INSIDE their hearts!
And this time, nothing in the world could EVER tear them apart! Jesus would forever and always be beside them, WITH them. CARING for them. Loving away the poison and hatred in their hearts.
They then opened the shutters immediately, and sunlight filled the once dark room, like love had flooded their hearts.
The room was now filled with happy and cheerful sounds and noises. Thumping was heard, because of dancing feet. Singing and laughing were heard as well.
They unlocked the door and ran out into the streets, like they have never been afraid.
Peter then cried to the crowd loudly, “Jesus had died for you! All because he loves you! But, God made him live once more, he has saved you!”
Bystanders, passerby and the already formed crowed were all listening, and processing what Peter had just told them. Peter’s words touched their hearts, it felt amazing. Like when a prince meets his princess, or when a mother hears her baby’s cry. Or seeing a family member wake up from a coma.
Stop running away from God! Instead, run to him instead! So that he can love you, and make you free!”, Peter cried to the crowd. Then Peter told the crowd about the wonderful story of God’s love and care for everyone.
GOD IS…. NEVER giving up. NEVER stopping. UNBREAKING love.
However, one man at the corner of everything, was glaring at the sight, despising it. “I will put an end to this…”, Saul hissed. Unfortunately for him, no one could ever wreck. God’s plan. No one and nothing ever would.
