  3. Review of windows 7 • The first thing you'll notice about Windows 7 is that it looks like Vista. It also works like Vista, in the sense that it has the same plumbing underneath, except for a very welcome graphics upgrade to DX11. However, it works much better than Vista, and most of Vista's annoyances have either been removed, or (mostly) can be changed so the system works the way you like.   4. Review of vista • Despite some of the hysteria surrounding Vista's hardware requirements, if your PC runs Windows XP without problems, it's almost certain to run Vista without issue too. Even Aero's visual effects aren't particularly demanding - the integrated graphics of a modern entry-level notebook (Intel's GMA 950 or more recent) will cope. The one caveat to this is RAM - while XP may scrape by on 512MB or less, Vista benefits hugely from 1GB or more. • Other good news is that there are significantly more drivers packaged with Vista than in XP, as well as many more on Windows Update (you can check this before you install). If you own a PC from the past two years with nothing outlandish in the way of hardware, you can reasonably expect a fully populated Device Manager.   7. Linux,ubuntu 9.10 The new Ubuntu Software Centre is a combination of Synaptic and an Ubuntu-specific Software Store. At present it is merely a standard interface for installing packages from the Ubuntu repositories… with a little nicer look and feel than Synaptic.   10. The evolution of Mac • A family of desktop and laptop computers from Apple, introduced in 1984. When spelled Mac, short for Macintosh computer. It was the first computer to popularize the graphical user interface (GUI). The combination of Mac hardware and software has been exceptionally consistent over the years, providing an ease of use that Mac users have enjoyed. With a Windows emulator such as Virtual PC, Macs can also run Windows and DOS applications. Since the mid 1980s, it has been essentially a Mac vs. PC world for personal computers, with Linux-based PCs gaining ground after the millennium.
