How does the HUB fit into UB? • UB2020 University at Buffalo’s Strategic Plan“…a vision for the University at Buffalo’s emergence as a world-class public research university and a strategic plan for fully achieving its vast potential.” • Focus on Research, Focus on Place, & Focus on Services
What was involved in planning the HUB? • Spring 2007 – Spring 2008: Student Systems Assessment • Campus-wide involvement in: • Surveys, focus groups, workshops • Decision of using PeopleSoft Campus Solutions • Summer 2008 – Present: Student Services Transformation (SST) Project • 70+ campus-wide staff involved in implementation
Who was involved in the SST Project Team? Campus-wide Commitment - Core Project Team included representation from: School of Law School of Medicine School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences Student Academic Records & Financial Services Student Advising Services Undergraduate Admissions University Communications Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education • Academic Planning & Budget • Academic Processing Services • Administrative Computing Services • Division of Athletics • Enterprise Infrastructure Services • Financial Aid • Financial Processing Services • Graduate School • Graduate School of Education • International Education • School of Dental Medicine
What was the implementation timeline? • Summer 2008: Project chartered, guiding principles created, "fit/gap" sessions launched to ensure success. • Winter 2009: Module configuration begins • Spring 2009: Major data migration planning and process begins • August 2010: First major production milestone: UB Course Catalog, and new MyUB portal "goes live." • Fall 2010: Students re-brand the Student Information System "HUB" • New UB domestic applicants begin using in MyUB. • Major training initiative begins migrating staff, faculty and students to HUB

What are some of the benefits of the HUB? • Integrated, real-time information • Reduced number of shadow systems • Move to a system that is continually progressing • Updates to the system 4+ times a year • Self-service portals for students, faculty & staff • Brings together commonly used links and information into 1 place
