SIGSAC Membership members retention
Lessons Learned • Insist on conservative budgets; • most conference organizers are unaware of budgetary constraints. • Seek inexpensive venues (e.g., Universities) in attractive locations • particularly in Europe and Asia; avoid hotel meetings, if possible. • 3. Seek new ways to attract and retain members (e.g., new benefits ?). • Be prudent and do not overextend conference sponsorship! • There are (too) many conferences already in the security area.
