My name is Shelby Paschal and this year I am a sophomore pursuing a Biological Engineering degree. I chose BENG because I love water and the research that UofA offers for water studies and clean water advancement is exactly what I want to do. As a first generation college student, I moved to college knowing only one other person, my identical twin sister. It was an intimidating situation, but through a lot of laughs and a couple late nights, we both made it- so if you see me around, look twice.. It might be her! The first year of college and especially the first year of engineering can have many challenges, triumphs, mishaps, adventures and tests of academic and psychological integrity. As your peer mentor, I’m here to guide you through everything from finding a good study place to not missing deadlines for financial aid or housing. I shall seek an answer for any of your questions that I might not know, so don’t be afraid to ask! It’s going to be a great year!
