18-3 Ohm’s Law: Resistance and Resistors • Simon Ohm (1787-1854) established experimentally that the current in a metal wire is proportional to voltage. • Ohm’s law states V=IR or that current in a conductor is proportional to the voltage, in metal conductors. (See p533) • Some materials are non-ohmic. • See Example 18-3 p 533.
