  2. Severe Weather Shelter in place. Do not leave the building. Move staff and customers to designated shelter areas. Contact the Security Operations Center (612-348-5111, 612-348-5135 for non-emergencies) and let them know you have moved to sheltered areas due to weather. Contact the Security Operations Center (612-348-5111, 612-348-5135 for non-emergencies) for updates and the all clear before leaving shelter areas. Fire Stop what you are doing, and assist customers in exiting the building. Use the Fire Evacuation Route established for your site. Avoidusing elevators. Gather with others in designated assembly areas. Contact the Security Operations Center (612-348-5111, 612-348-5135 for non-emergencies) to advise Hennepin County of the details of the emergency. Violence, Threats, Break-ins, Thefts Contact the Security Operations Center (612-348-5111, 612-348-5135 for non-emergencies) for aid and instructions Medical Emergencies Contact the Security Operations Center (612-348-5111, 612-348-5135 for non-emergencies) for aid and instructions Electrical Outage Call your Building Operations Manager (BOM) using the landline and report the outage. Call Xcel Energy (1-800-895-1999) using the landline to report the outage and obtain an estimate of when they expect restoration of service. Xcel’s customer service system uses the incoming phone number to determine the location of the problem. Their response will be much faster and more accurate if the call is placed from the affected facility. If the safety of the public is in danger, the building may be evacuated. The County Administrator will determine whether a site should be closed. Plumbing Problem Call your Building Manager and report the problem. The BOM will investigate and determine how long the repair may take. After 5PM or anytime you cannot reach the BOM directly contact the Security Operations Center (612-348-5111, 612-348-5135 for non-emergencies) and ask them to contact Facilities Management staff.
